FAQs

Here on our family farm, we strive to keep our customers happy! We offer a wide variety of products and scents so everyone can choose their favorite. We are happy to say that all of our products focus on the use of natural ingredients to keep your skin happy and thriving. If you’re wondering about the use of some of our ingredients we are happy to explain:

  • Cyclomethicone is an additive in our lotion that is used to help our product glide onto your skin.
  • Phenonip is a natural preservative that is required in our lotion process to ensure our product stays fresh for a longer period of time.
  • Sodium Lactate is used in our soap to help solidify the liquid into the molds to form its “soap” shape.
  • Food Grade Sodium Hydroxide otherwise known as Lye - A very important ingredient in soap making that helps to initiate the process of saponification (The act, process, or result of making soap). Food Grade Sodium Hydroxide can be dangerous when in direct contact with beads and skin, however once gone through the entire saponification process it becomes soap! Therefore, no longer has the same effects as the direct ingredient. Our soap cures for a minimum of 2 weeks to ensure that the bars are fully dried and the ingredients have cured.

Raw goat milk contains 20% smaller fat globules with lower levels of lactose making it easier to digest. Even though we do not use our milk for consumption, this is still beneficial for our soap and lotion products. Goat milk shares the same pH level as human skin which is why it is so effective and non-drying when used. We also benefit from the A2 nutrients and Oligosaccharides which is what helps make goats milk the most similar milk to humans milk. On our farm we practice safe and sanitary procedures to ensure our milk is the highest quality before using it in our products.

Unfortunately at this time, we do not sell raw goats milk at Alpine Crossings Family Farm. In the state of Michigan, it is against the law to sell raw goats milk to consumers without proper inspections from USDA. Please stay tuned for Herd Share updates!

We’d love for you to visit our herd, however, due to liability reasons we are unable to host tours or visitations on our family farm at this time. If you are interested in inviting goats to your home, we do offer Alpine Crossings Barnyard Bash. For further information, please visit the "Event" tab.

Our goats will travel within the State of Michigan to make it to your special event! Travel fees will apply after 1 hour of drive time. ($10/30 Mins.)
