At Alpine Crossings Family Farm, our mission is to provide our community with the freshest and highest-quality products possible. Over the past year, we have been working closely with the knowledgeable and dedicated Legal Team at Farm to Consumer to explore the best ways to offer our customers access to fresh, unprocessed goat milk.
As consumers become more informed about the origins of their food and the ingredients they choose, we recognize the importance of ensuring that our community has safe and healthy access to unpasteurized goat milk. This commitment to transparency and quality is at the heart of what we do.
We are thrilled to announce that, as a result of our efforts, we will now be offering Alpine Crossings Herd Shares! This innovative program allows our customers to enjoy the benefits of fresh goat milk directly from our farm while supporting sustainable farming practices. Each herd share will grant customers a legal share in our herd of goats, providing them with a consistent supply of farm-fresh, unprocessed goat milk.
Our commitment extends beyond just providing a product; we are dedicated to fostering a deeper connection between our farm and our community. We believe that fresh, local products not only enhances health but also brings families and friends together. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey, and we can’t wait for you to experience the delicious benefits of Alpine Crossings Herd Shares!

A Herd Share is the only way to access unpasteurized milk in Michigan.
The buyer/owner must understand raw goat milk's inherent risks (and presumed benefits) and assume those risks when purchasing a share.
At Alpine Crossings Family Farm, we raise Alpine, Nigerian Dwarf, and Boer goats, each of which serves a specific purpose on our farm. We exclusively milk our Alpine and Nigerian Dwarf goats, and their milk serves as a base for our handcrafted products or offered through herd shares.
Our herd is raised on a mixture of timothy and alfalfa hay in round bales. During the milking season, each goat is given about 2 pounds of sweet goat grain daily. They also have full access to essential minerals. We milk our goats once a day, ensuring that each goat receives the best possible care and is showered with love.
Our herd spends most of their life outside but has ample access to covered shelter to stay comfortable throughout the seasons in Michigan. Inside the barns, we use fresh straw sourced from a local farm to provide a warm and dry environment.
Please reach us at alpinecrossings@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Herd Share owners will be assigned a pick-up day, which shall remain the same for the duration of the season. Owners can pick up their weekly supply of milk at Alpine Crossings Family Farm.
Farm Address: 6170 Warner Road, Fowlerville, MI 48836.
At Alpine Crossings Family Farm, our milking season runs from March to September, although this may vary each year. We pause our milking process during the fall and winter to prioritize the care of our animals, allowing them a dry period to recover and restore their health.
Please note that Herd Share Owners will be entering into a yearly contract, but will only receive milk for six months out of the year, corresponding to the milking season.
On our farm, we prioritize safe milk quality practices. We begin by pre-washing the goats' udders before milking and ensure that we work in a clean environment. Our milking machine can milk four goats simultaneously, allowing the milk to flow through food-grade rubber hoses directly into a stainless steel tank. All equipment is sanitized and sterilized before each milking session. This process helps prevent any foreign objects from entering the milking process, ensuring the highest quality milk for our customers.
If a herd share owner is interested in visiting the farm, please contact Andrew at 517-375-2647 to schedule a time to tour the farm and meet with the herd. Unmonitored visits are prohibited as we have placed strict biosecurity rules & regulations to ensure our herd obtains the best care and health we can provide.
Herd Share fees are non-refundable. Customers may terminate their contract at any time; however, please note that your spot will be made available to other customers.
